Diet A-Z: Detox Diet (the secret detox) – What, Why and Review

Detoxing your body means removing lots of nasty things inside your body, such as toxins, by consuming particular foods and drinks. Differnt detoxes have differnt foods and drink you must take, and often very different results. Not everyone finds detoxing makes a huge differnce for them but for others it can make them feel like a new person.

The Secret Detox Diet (found here), makes some rather large claims, not only about what it can do but also about how bad your body is right now. With slogans such as live for longer and lose lots of fat without dieting, i thought it would be interesting to put this detox diet to the test.

How do you do the Secret Detox Diet?

Firstly you go to the page listed above and buy the doctors ebook. Its around $35 at time of writing – quite steep perhaps, but easily worth it if it lives up to its claims. But does it?

Lets quickly look at some more of its claims, as they are very interesting.

We are all fat apparently, not because we eat too much or the wrong foods, but because there are lots of parasites inside us that make us fat! Luckily a good detox likes this will wash them all out. Not the most convincing of claims to be honest, but coupled with the pictures on the site it suddenly becomes a lot more really and viable. But the truth is we all have parasites in us anyway, just they are not usually harmful as far as i know. The other statement that was of interest to me was that our bodies are lines with plague that is presumably slowly stopping blood flow and such, and slowly killing us. The detox also sees to that. Great!

Now sadly i cannot go into how to do the diet in great detail here as the information must be purchased, but i will tell you it is a natural detox – plants, herbs and that kind of thing. You only need to go on it for a matter of days but it will means a few days of huner (not starvation), or it did for me.

Results

Well a week after going on the detox i did feel better and i was down a few pounds (5 pounds). Did i lose parasites and plague along the way? Well to be honest i have no idea but i like to think i did. I will recommend this detox, but i cannot vouch for its claims even after completing it. Infact it was the weight loss and the extra energy i gained that really impressed me. Shame they didnt just concentrate on that on the main page of info. Once you are off the detox you are recommended to go back on to a healthy diet so whether the continuous weight loss was due to detoxing or going back to my healthy dieting i cant say. I do think its worth ago though, especially if you have never detoxed before!

Diet A-Z: Elimination Diet (the) – What, Why and Review

The elimination diet is an interesting concept. It involves finding out which foods are no good from your body and getting rid of them entirely. For instance, some people may be lactose intolerrent without even knowing it – these people go on the elimination diet and get rid of all dairy products for two weeks and start feeling great. Then they decide that they are not going to have dairy products again. On top of things your body may not react well to, you can eliminate foods that are making you put on more weight than others.

OK i can not give you a fair review of this diet because: a) I have not done this diet properly b) I dont see it as an actual diet

When i say i have not done the diet properly what i mean is i have eliminated a few problem foods over my life time by realising accidently that they are no good for me, such as anything with caffeine in it – i can not sleep at all if i have any caffeine in the afternoon onwards, so i avoid it as much as possible now.

And when i say i dont see it as an actual diet, well i dont. It is more of an experiment. You are meant to get rid of particular food types from your diet for around two weeks at a time. If there is no difference to your weight loss or how you feel you put it back in to your diet and you get rid of another food type. This is actually something well worth doing as you are very likely to find foods your body doesnt like or react well to that you never even knew about, but the problem is eliminating every type of food for two week periods takes a heck of a long time!

As such i cant give this a fair review so wont even try. It is a “diet” i am going to try to do over a long period of time whilst on other actual healthy eating diets, and will alter this review when the time comes. However, until then I can not recommend it to you. Why not look at other popular diets such as Atkins, until then.

Diet Review – The Truth About Six Pack Abs

Comments : No Comments - December 21st,

This site has been looking at a lot of weight loss diets recently so i thought it was time to do something different. This review looks at a product that is meant to get you a flat, muscular stomach whether you are a woman or a man. It is supposed to finally get rid of that stubborn belly fat and spare tyre, what foods you are eating that are totally wrong and the only exercises that really will help you tone your stomach.

The Truth About Six Pack Abs (TTASPA)

The truth about six pack abs is 106 pages of unique and very useful content. Everything that is promised in the book can be accomplished by anyone who is motivated and will stick with it. But of course, its not easy to be motivated for a long period of time. Do not worry if you have a lot of weight to lose – this is not just about toning, this is about losing weight in a different way to most of the diets reviewed here.

And whilst i agreed with most of the content ( i have read this e-book, and been on the course for only two weeks so far), i did not like how it said that long term diets do not work. I presume this was just a way of promoting TTASPA and so i ignored it and i would urge you to as well.

The exercises in the manual do not require you to go to the gym and really do work. I was aching a lot the day after i began. I did have to invest in a pair of dumbbells that i ordered of amazon, to make the most of certain exercises.

I have only lost a couple of pounds so far since begining these exercises, but i have gained some muscle. I have to do my belt up an extra notch now and as such, i am very happy with the two pounds of weight loss as muscle weighs more than fat anyway.

The truth about this book is, it will work but it is not a short cut to getting a six pack. It will get you there but not for a few months, and even that would depend on your starting weight.

What you would really gain from this ebook is a fantastic foundation for bewing able to maintain a near perfect body for the rest of your life. There are literally dozens of work out options for you to choose from that would suit both beginner and intermediates. It will give you a decent diet plan telling you what to eat and what to avoid. (eg protien in, fat out).

I will be sticking with this diet, but it does have a couple of problems. As i mentioned earlier, i do not like how it dismisses long term diets, when the whole thing with TTASPA is long term exercise and diet anyway. The other problem it has is the price – almost  $40. Yes, it probably is worth it but i dont have a clue why it couldnt have been a bit less.

Ignoring the price. it actually compares favorably with other fat loss diets such as Fat Loss for Idiots, with the advantage of it getting your stomach toned as well as helping you lose fat.

Diet A-Z: Atkins Diet – What, Why and Review

Comments : No Comments - September 4th,

As a new feature to Diets Detox and Weight Loss (get thin or diet trying), we are going to be reviewing or at least looking at most of the major diets around in our Diet A to Z. Drawing from my own experiences and those of my friends and family who have tried these diets i will be giving honest feedback about each, as well as an explanation and a usual days diet plan. For those i cant review as i don’t know anyone who has tried, i will just give an overview until i actually get around to trying them.

OK so thats the plan, and the first diet up is…

The Atkins Diet

Overview

In the 1970′s Dr Robert Atkins created a new kind of diet – Dr Atkins Diet Revolution. It was a very low carb diet (as in, almost no carbs). This changes how your body digests food to a form of “Ketosis” – a more able method of burning fat.

Since the 1970′s the diet has been highly popular throughout certain parts of the world (mainly America – where the amount of overweight people looking for a quick painless solution is, or at least was, at its highest). The Atkins diet boomed again in early 2000 when many celebrities turned to it for quick weight loss solutions.

How do you do ‘Atkins’

You more or less cut out carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are sugars and starch that we digest for energy. There are two type, simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates.  Simple carbs are found in fruits and dairy products and are easy to digest, complex carbs are found in wholegrain foods – brown bread, pasta, wheat based cerals. Usually complex carbs are better for us as they keep full for longer, amongst other reasons. Anyway Robert Atkins had something against both types, but in particular simple carbs.

Cutting out carbs makes your body go into a state of Ketosis, as described above. What do you eat instead of carbs? Almost unlimited amounts of meats, cheese, eggs, oil, butter,  – and importantly to me bacon and sausages. Sounds great? Eating as much of that stuff as your can each day and still losing weight? Well it sounded great to me, but the reality was slightly differnt

Review (based on personal experience)

It all sounded great to me to start with. Salmon, chicken, bacon – all fried and all as much as i wanted. And it was good to start with. I enjoyed the foods and after a few days my body felt different and my urine started to smell horrible (sorry to mention that, but its the main sign of Ketosis and the diet going well!). Weight actually started to come off really fast. 3 – 4 pounds a week which was really good for me. But that only lasted for about three weeks, then it went down rapidly. That was not really a surprise and not a big disappointment, but i was getting really, really sick of basically meat only. Meat and omelette’s i seem to remember mainly.  On top of that, with no fiber in my diet going to the toilet began to become a bit of a mission.  Infact if anyone reading this want ot try Atkins, i highly recommend taking fibre tablets once a day.

I couldn’t stomach anymore of the diet after 5 weeks and ran off to eat some bread. In my opinion it is just not a sustainable diet plan. You will get sick of the foods you have to eat before you lose enough weight to hit your target. However, if you did hit your target on the diet things change slightly and you are allowed a treat here and there. I lost around 12 pounds in 5 – 6 weeks. I put it all back on again a couple of months later.

That doesn’t mean the diet is bad, it just wasnt for me. If you are thinking about going on the Atkins diet – buy the official Atkins diet book, think carefully how you can make the meals interesting without including carbs, plan them way in advance,  buy fibre tablets and possibly join a support forum / community.

Does Proactol Work? | honest review – Does Proactol Really Work.

Comments : No Comments - July 12th,

I need to lose weight during summer 2011 as I am going to be a bridesmade towards the end of it and I have a dress I really want to fit into. Infact, a dress I need to fit into! I intend to eat healthily and get some exercise in, but a two months ago I always ordered a couple of  packs of weight loss aid, Poractol – and let me tell you how that went..   What is Proactol? To start with, let me explain what Proactol is and why I chose it. Proactol does two things – it burns an extra 300 calories a day from just taking it, and it also helps suppress your appetite, meaning you will be full for longer, by eating less.

I decided on it because my friend has been taking it for around a year and looks amazing. It is clinically approved and has been around for over 5 years so it is very safe (5 years is a very long time in the weight loss industry). It is made of natural fibers that simply stop a lot of the fat you consume from being absorbed by your body in the first place.

Does Proactol Really Work Does Proactol really work?

As you can see you get a lot of the little pills in one pack so its pretty good value for money. Let me cut to the chase – two months and I lost 13 pounds and am pretty much at my target weight (although I really need to tone up still, but for that I need to exercise!). I ate healthily through this “experiment”, but did little exercise as I have been just too busy.

You should take you pills straight after each meal (for me, 3 times a day), with a glass of water to help them down. I started losing weight during my second week of taking them, and as I had done very little else differnt to the previous week, I was very impressed and became pretty motivated. How I always imagine it works is it gets into the food I have just eaten, and absorbs a load of the fat. Very easy to take, no negative effects at all and the water and fibre fills you up even more than your meal did (nearly always stopping me from having a desert).

So Does Proactol Really Work? Yes! And that is why it has been around for 5 years and selling like crazy! I can highly recommend Proactol, (and have done so to my boyfriend :) )If you would like to learn more or see other peoples experiences please visit PROACTOL OFFICIAL WEBSITE
