Insanity Workout Review – lose weight in 60 days
insanity workout review
Hi Guys – my name is nick and I am doing a guest post here at Diets Detox and Weight Loss. I recently completed my Insanity “journey” and wanted to share my experiences with you all and give you my insanity workout review.
Insanity is a pretty hardcore home workout created by a guy called Shaun T. If you have never heard of Insanity you might want to take a quick look at it on Amazon to see what I am talking about:
Before I start, a quick word about Insanity’s creator: Shaun T is a dance choreographer turned ultimate workout monster. He is not annoying, but not particularly funny either. He is just there – constantly pushing and motivating you.
Insanity Workout Review
Insanity is a 60 day workout program that is based around cardio exercises, and muscle building resistance / plyometric exercises. The idea is you are doing a workout every day of the week except for Sundays where you get a well earned break. It is NOT for someone who is in bad shape and is looking to get started with a few easy exercise classes. It is also not for anyone with a heart condition! This is hard. I am fairly fit, and I struggled each and every day I turned on my dvd player.
It is divided into two halves – the first 26 days(ish) is full of 40 minute exercise routines whilst for the second half of the program the workouts have been pushed up to an hour. The second half is known as the results phase, as you will most likely start seeing your body changing in this period. All the routines are pretty much: Run, Jump, Duck, Squat, Push Up, and then repeat. There are plenty of variations, with some days targeting your abs, some days your legs or your arms.
The best thing to me, and the reason I did insanity, is that it is just 60 days to get a great body or to at least lose a lot of fat. That is just two months out of your life to completely transform yourself! Yes it is hard, and yes it will push you to your limits but only for 60 days!
You do not need any equipment (apart from the dvds and workout calendar) to do Insanity, just motivation and a bit of room in-front of your tv. It costs about $150 but you can use it as many times as you want and workouts so much cheaper than a gym membership.
I found Insanity a struggle just because of how hard it was. I would have breaks all the time to start with, either beacuse of my fitness or because my muscles could not go on any more. However, I was lucky enough to be doing the Insanity workout with my girlfriend and we motivated each other through it. Don’t think that getting fitter will help you with insanity by the way… the whole point of it is you push your self to your limits – so you might be doing this with a much fitter friend but they will be just as dead by the end of it as you because they will have been pushing it harder.
My insanity workout review is based on my results – I completed Insanity in the 60(63) days and ate very healthily when I was doing it. My body did not look like the guys on the dvd cover when I had finished, but I did lose 10 pounds of weight (which I was really pleased with!), 3 percent body fat (15 down to 12) and put on a bit of muscle which makes me look a quite toned. I am sure my insanity workout review will be a lot different to yours, as it really is a different experience for each person who does it. I am really pleased with the results and am motivated to do the whole insanity again, or try P90X.
Push yourself to your limit for an hour a day for just 60 days and you can make a life changing difference.
