Why You Should Not Aim For Quick, Short Term Weight Loss

A lot of people want to lose just a few pounds and they want to do it quickly - perhaps to get into a new dress (usually the ladies),  or to get in shape or look toned for the holidays. That is fine - if they do not intend to keep the weight off for a long period of time. But for someone actually overweight, who wants to permanently lose weight, fad diets and quick bursts of weight loss are not going to help.

Its an unfortunate fact that people who try a diet and only stick with it for say, three weeks, will put back on all the weight they lose, and extra on top. Sure it may take a month or two to put it back on, but yo-yo diets, as they are called, are extremely bad for your health as they can completely mess up how your body burns calories and fat. Infact the more often yo go on yo-yo diets, the less weight you will lose from them each time

So that brings us to a proper diet. A diet for people serious about losing weight and getting healthy and staying that way. A proper diet does not mean losing weight and then everything being fine. A real diet is a change in lifestyle - for ever. I hope that doesnt scare people of dieting, but its the truth. It does not mean you can never eat chocolate or cakes again, but it does mean you can never eat them as often again. It means eating fruit, veg, meat etc at the right times. Wholegrain bread and rice, healthier snack etc.

A diet means chaging how you live for good. If you are serious about losing weight and being healthy for good then its time to start changing how you live, today.
